This Privacy Policy explains how TalkNest ("TalkNest", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the TalkNest Android app, package name com.talknest.app.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and Google sign-in profile information when you choose Google sign-in.
- Profile information: profile photo, bio, interests, nationality, gender, birthday or age-related information, native languages, learning languages, language level, goals, and practice preferences.
- User content: direct messages, corrections, saved expressions, posts, reports, profile photos, chat images, voice notes, and related metadata needed to provide social and language-learning features.
- Audio and camera data: microphone access is used for voice notes and voice rooms. Camera or photo access is used when you choose to upload or send images. Live voice room audio is used to provide the call experience.
- Device and usage data: device identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, crash logs, performance data, notification tokens, advertising identifiers where applicable, and purchase or subscription status.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage accounts, profiles, matching, messages, voice rooms, learning tools, and premium features.
- To send notifications, moderate abuse reports, enforce safety rules, prevent spam, and protect users.
- To provide translation, grammar-checking, coaching, media upload, billing verification, and account deletion services.
- To analyze app performance, fix crashes, improve features, and measure usage.
- To show ads and manage advertising consent where advertising is available.
Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate TalkNest, including Google Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, App Check), Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform, Google Play Billing, LiveKit, and Cloudflare-based backend services.
Some profile information and user content may be visible to other TalkNest users as part of the app's social and language-learning features. Reports and safety information may be reviewed by moderation systems or administrators.
Advertising and Consent
TalkNest may use Google AdMob to show ads. Depending on your region and consent choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. You can manage available ad privacy options in the app when Google requires them.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security. You can request account deletion from the app settings. You may also contact us using the email address below. Some limited records may be retained where required for safety, fraud prevention, legal, or operational reasons.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
TalkNest is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to TalkNest, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our service providers operate their systems.
